Working at Comcast: Meet Lisa, a Workforce Operations Dispatcher

Welcome back to “Working at Comcast,” a peek into the daily lives of Comcast employees.

This week we head to Aston, Pennsylvania to spend a day with Lisa – a Workforce Operations Dispatcher who supports Comcast’s frontline field technicians.

No two days are the same in Lisa’s world. She is constantly faced with different challenges. After starting her mornings with a trip to the fish tank and a cup of hot tea, Lisa gets down to work helping Comcast’s technicians and contractors maneuver through real time technical problems they encounter in the field and at customers’ homes.

“Multitasking is truly an asset,” Lisa says of her role. “If you like a challenge, this is definitely a good position.”

At any given moment, Lisa can be found confirming or rescheduling appointments, assisting with service issues, and clarifying rate codes.  Comcast’s operations centers are fast-paced environments where thinking on your feet and clear communication are essential to keeping customers connected.

“I represent a really large company, so I want to do the best that I can. If it takes a little bit longer, if I have to stay on the phone with a tech more than a couple minutes, I’m doing it,” Lisa explains.  “I’m not hanging up until we’ve got the problem solved or until I can get him to someone that can fix the problem.”
