It’s safe to say at this point that the GLAAD Media Awards never fail to disappoint, whether we’re talking about the Los Angeles or New York shows. This past Saturday, the action was at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City with Mariah Carey and Robert De Niro both being honored, as well as the remaining nominees for the coveted awards.
Before the event, I was on the red carpet (which, for the record, was blue) and talked to a slew of nominees, award presenters and performers who were there to make the night as special as possible.
Andrew Rannells first noticed all the glitter on my jacket, but talked about what his younger self would’ve thought of being a part of the GLAAD Awards.
With the recent renewal of ABC’s “The Real O’Neals,” star Noah Galvin was understandably walking on air.
The fabulous Alex Newell previewed singing “Hero” for GLAAD Award winner Mariah Carey.
….and here is Alex’s performance, which blew the roof off the Waldorf Astoria and got huge smiles out of Carey.
Nominee Jim Obergefell talked about putting his story about marriage equality out in the world on “Anderson Cooper 360.”
It’s not easy being an out athlete in the tough world of wrestling, but Darren Young talked about navigating the challenges.
