As someone who grew up watching classic VH1 reality shows like “I Love Money” and “Charm School,” when I’m watching a reunion episode, I expect to be assaulted with pure, unadulterated drama. Basically, I’m not happy unless I walk away from the experience feeling uncomfortable or, at the bare minimum, gagging in-between commercial breaks.
And boy, Mama Ru did not disappoint with her reunion special. I was shook. Dare I even say, Baba-shook! Right out of the gate, RuPaul ditched the show’s traditional format of focusing on each queen, and focused instead on the more memorable moments that occurred throughout the season. The episode quickly became a free-for-all to nab screen time, with no shortage of conflict and scene-stealing.
Amidst the flurry of shade-throwing and tea service, there was a ton of gif-able moments. I’ve taken the liberty of pulling together my favorites (even though nobody asked), because it’s always good have a drag queen gif in your back pocket. You can thank me later.
Speaking of gif-able moments, this Friday yours truly will be coming at you live from the red carpet of the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Finale Viewing Party with Bob the Drag Queen and Shangela on the XFINITY Facebook page. Don’t miss the live stream. Then be sure tune in to VH1 at 8 p.m. EST to find out which queen will go home with the crown.
