Post-Tribal Wrap-Up

Things kick off at camp and we actually get to hear about what happened at Tribal! What a concept.

So, Heather going into business for herself was not a ploy to get Xander and Naseer to play their idols. She really was trying to save Tiffany. And this move annoyed Shan so much that she just wanted to vote for Heather, which Deshawn was not down with. In fact, it bothered him enough that he thinks Shan is stepping on his toes.

Isn’t this fun?! Learning about what happens during those big confusing live Tribals?

It seems like Shan and Deshawn are able to mend fences the next morning. But during the conversation, Deshawn gets annoyed because he claims Shan is pushing her agenda too aggressively. Oof…c’mon you two.

Quick Aside: I’d really love to see more of what Shan is doing to bother Deshawn, because what we’re seeing doesn’t seem that bad. But, it’s a 42-minute show and we only see bits and pieces of it.

Sooo…Deshawn starts looking for other options. Namely, Evvie.

In other news, Naseer forgives Heather for writing his name down. She claims she didn’t vote for him, but does admit to throwing his name out to the group. So…which is worse? I wouldn’t get into semantics; I’d accept his forgiveness and move forward.

Heather might be bad at this.

And who voted for Naseer? It was Xander. I tell ya, he was getting the dumb guy edit, but he is sharp.

Later on, we learn more about Ricard’s hearing loss. He was worried about it coming into the game, but now sees it as an advantage because he can read lips. Aha…

Then we get a really weird moment, where there are six people on the beach; Erika, Xander, Shan, Danny, Liana, and Deshawn. And Shan very clearly says, “We should all talk as a four,” and her, Danny, Liana, and Deshawn walk off.

This feels like yet another unforced error from Shan. There are still six people not in their four.

We also learn that Shan wants to target Erika while Liana is still eager to boot Xander.

Lookit all that strategy talk. Love it!

Immunity Challenge Time: The players will be divided into two groups. They will balance on a perch with their hands up on a handle. The last person standing from each group wins immunity. The groups will go to Tribal separately and vote someone out. Also, the overall last person standing will win stew for their group.

The sides are: Erika, Shan, Ricard, Naseer, and Heather vs. Deshawn, Evvie, Liana, Xander, and Danny.

Quick Aside: Who’s in trouble here? Erika and Evvie? The dominant alliance ended up pretty evenly split between the two teams.

Results: Erika wins immunity, Xander wins immunity and stew. And, the losing tribe will have to hang out at Ua camp until Tribal. Ooo…so no idol swapping.

Another Quick Aside: Wow, the right people won to make Tribal interesting.

Yet Another Quick Aside: Liana really hates Xander. She even said she hates his face.

Pre-Tribal Politicking

Deshawn tips his hand immediately when he asks Danny who they should eliminate. Danny, who seems comfortable in the alliance, knows that Xander has immunity, so Evvie should be the obvious choice.

Liana hilariously asks Xander if she could hold his idol so she’ll feel safe. He says he’d give it to Evvie, but not to her. Has Liana been paying attention? On what Earth would Xander let her hold his idol?

It’s like the time He-Man let Skeletor hold the power sword for funsies.

Later on, Xander and Evvie try to get Deshawn and Danny to vote for Liana. Deshawn is in, but Danny makes a pitch to Xander for Evvie.

C’mon Danny, nobody thinks your mega alliance is less dangerous than Evvie.

Over at Ua beach, Shan and Naseer agree to work together in an effort to protect both of their idols. And because Erika is safe, Heather is the obvious vote.

And it’s no secret. Naseer straight up tells Heather the deal. What about her Shot in the Dark, Naseer?

However, Ricard is ready to make a move. He wants to send Naseer and his idol to the jury. But, Shan seems to hate this idea. And she doesn’t like his idea about using her extra vote to make it happen.

Tribal Time

Heather knows her number is up and makes a joke about wanting an idol to fall out of the sky to save her. DON’T GIVE PRODUCTION ANY IDEAS!

Not much else is said other than Ricard pointing out that it’s hard to vote people with advantages out because there are so many advantages.

Wow… they’re telegraphing Heather going home so much, I have to think that Ricard made some magic happen.

Voting Time: Erika votes for Naseer, Naseer votes for Heather, and the rest of the votes are secret.

JPro tallies and returns. He asks if anyone wants to play an idol or an advantage and…nobody does.

So, Heather thinks she’s safe? That doesn’t set off any alarms for Naseer?

We’ve got one vote for Heather, one vote for Naseer, two votes for Heather, one vote for Naseer, and another vote for…Naseer.

Voting Time Part Deux: No votes are shown.

JPro tallies and returns, we’ve got two votes for Naseer and the ninth person voted out of “Survivor 41” and the second member of the jury is…Naseer.

Tribal Time Part Deux

Everyone seems pretty comfortable that they know what’s going to happen, but Danny points out that Naseer must’ve felt pretty comfortable to not play his idol.

And nothing else particularly interesting was said.

Voting Time Part Deux Part Deux: Liana votes for Evvie, Evvie votes for Liana, and the rest of the votes are lost to the magic of editing.

JPro tallies and returns. He asks if anyone wants to play an idol or an advantage and…nobody does.

We’ve got one vote for Liana, one vote for Evvie, one vote for Liana, one vote for Evvie, and the tenth person voted out of “Survivor 41” and the third member of the jury is…Evvie.

Wow, that one is a shocker.

Verdict: Rough night for the boots! Naseer is the heart of “Survivor.” Just giddy to be out there and living his best life. And Evvie is the perfect example of someone who came ready to play and executed once they got out there. Hate to see them both go.

Buuut…I loved all the strategy talk. I loved getting to hear what actually happened during a live Tribal. Good times!

Power Ranking Results: Michele Fitzgerald had Naseer in spot five, while I had him in spot four. We both had Evvie in spot ten. So, the current score is Team Fitzgerald 76, Team Holmes 75.

  • Danny – Danny is a champ. I feel like we’re not doing a very good job on focusing on what an amazing, well-rounded player he is. He somehow rallied his alliance back around and did it without Xander or Evvie figuring it out.
  • Ricard – You flushed an idol, tightened up the majority alliance, and got Shan to see your side of things. That’s a win.
  • Xander – Yeah, you were blindsided, but you’re so savvy. The fact that you got this far on the bottom and you still have three advantages is to be commended.
  • Heather and Erika – Whatever happened, the credit probably belongs  to Ricard. That said, you played your parts beautifully.
  • Shan – Once again, Shan is a strategic powerhouse, but her social game is a disaster. When are Ricard or Deshawn going to make her pay for it?
  • Liana – You really asked Xander if you could hold his idol? That tells me you don’t have a great grasp of what’s going on out there.
  • Deshawn – You’re doing a wonderful job of talking yourself out of a very strong position.
