“Survivor: Edge of Extinction” Power Rankings Round 3 – Poultry In Motion Edition

“Survivor: Edge of Extinction” (CBS)

The Rules: Each week our two combatants will create separate power rankings. The ranking of the person who is voted out of the next episode will determine the number of points the players will earn. For example, if Joe is voted out this episode, Gabby will receive three points and Gordon will receive six points. At the end of the season, the person with the most points will be named the “Survivor: Edge of Extinction” Power Rankings Challenge Champion!

Last Week: Gabby had Chris in spot nine, Gordon had him in spot thirteen. So, the current score is Team Gabby 25, Team Gordon 24.

Quick Note: Rankings are not based on who the player thinks is most likely to win. The smart strategy is to rank players based on how safe you think they are in the upcoming vote.

Gabby’s Score: 25

1. Aubry: I may or may not have cried when Aubry found her idol. Okay, I did. I definitely did. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. I’m so happy for her: queen of my archetype. 1. Aubry: Women can’t find idols? Good thing nobody told the only two safe people heading into this week’s tribe swap.
2. Lauren: Having an idol on a swap tribe must be a great feeling. Wish I could relate! She’s in a great spot in one of the most precarious and unpredictable portions of the game. 2. Lauren: Ranking tribe swaps is the absolute worst. There’s no reason to boot someone like Lauren. But what if she winds up on a tribe of all Kamatians? She won’t go home with her idol in a shallow, sandy grave.
3. Joe: If his tribe loses, which I can’t imagine they will, would they really want to get rid of their best chance at winning the next challenge? But by the way, if you overhear someone talking about you, they’re not “hard to read,” they’re gunning for you. 3. Gavin: Who gets voted out after a swap? Challenge threats, people playing too fast, people already on the outs, people on tribes that were down in numbers…none of these apply to Gavin.
4. Gavin: No news is good news, I’m hoping. He and the rest of his tribemates were invisible last week, so let’s hope nothing dramatic happens to Kumbaya Camp Kama members after a swap. 4. Rick: I’m a little nervous ranking a Manu person this high on the list. Odds are they’ll be down in the numbers on their new tribe. But, I love me some Rick. Who doesn’t?
5. Eric: In a tribe swap situation, an unassuming strong guy is the last target on anyone’s minds. Unless Eric ends up totally swap screwed (it could happen!), he should be sitting pretty. 5. Ron: My wife’s biggest pet peeve is when a really good coupon expires before it can be cashed in. That must’ve been rough on poor Ron. It’d also suck to be traded to a new tribe and have to come up with new, sweet dance moves.
6. Rick: I know it’s smart gameplay to decline being a part of Wendy’s jailbreak plan, but wouldn’t it be great TV if Rick turned full villain? What does an evil Kool-Aid man look like? Does he wear an eye patch? Does he have a goatee? Is the Kool-Aid green instead of red? I want evil Rick on my screen. 6. Joe: A tribe swap is the perfect time to get rid of a mega threat like Joe, I just wouldn’t bet against the Amazing One when he can come in second place and still avoid Tribal.
7. David: Praying he’s separated from Wentworth. Because he was starting to come off, like, totally obsessed with her?  Time away from her will be good for the both of them. 7. Julie: Nobody’s worried about Julie. She isn’t bothering anyone, she isn’t ruffling any feathers. She’ll be fine for a while.
8. Ron: His powerful advantage expired because his tribe never went to Tribal! But this crafty teacher wouldn’t let that parchment go to waste, right? If Ron can use his useless advantage to trick someone, that would be brilliant. 8. Julia: Maybe if you get voted out we’ll get to hear from you.
9. Julie: I really like Julie, and I regret underestimating her at the beginning of the season. Hopefully, her fellow players on the island similarly underestimate her so she can slide under the radar a while longer. 9. David: C’mon, “Survivor” gods…please let Rick and David score the same color buffs. They’re hilarious together.
10. Julia: If Julia finally gets airtime this episode, we rejoice! Or fear that a sudden spike in visibility means that she’s going home. Prayers for you, girl. 10. Victoria: Not looking for idols, not noticing an amazing presence…so many rookie mistakes. And, Aubramazing knows you’re gunning for them. The wrong swap could cost you.
11. Victoria: That beanie is causing trouble. Please remove it and wear more beach appropriate attire so that your peripheral vision is free of obstruction. I would like to see you continue on in this game. 11. Eric: Challenge threats are never safe at swaps. That’s why I kind of hate them.
12. Kelley: Either a tribe swap gives Kelley the second wind that she desperately needs, or she ends up on a tribe with no allies. I’m hoping for the former, but let’s see what the “Survivor” gods have in store. 12. Wendy: OK, my last thought on the chickens; it is messed up for you to make a decision for your tribe. That being said, there will probably be bigger fish to fry (are those OK to eat?) at the merge.
13. Wardog: I would never hold any strategic move Wardog did in the game against him. For example, if he were to vote off the attractive, strong, loyal, meat shield of a player who happened to be telling him valuable information, I would never personally hold that against him. But it can be difficult to understand why people make the decisions they do. 13. Aurora: You’re on the outs with the Kama newbs. You don’t have an idol and you aren’t a challenge legend. If you find yourself with a few Manutians, you might want to jump quick.
14. Aurora: She was on the bottom with Joe and Aubry. If they get split up in a tribe swap, who will be left to protect her? Probably not a good sign if all I know about her right now is that she’s willing to work with Joe, who doesn’t seem to have a lot of social capital. 14. Wardog: My Big Swap Ranking Rule: The biggest challenge threat from the tribe that is down in numbers is in trouble. That’s the Wardog.
15. Wendy: I’ve already ranked her last for the past three weeks, so why stop the trend now? She’s letting the chickens loose and has a bad ankle. All logic would suggest she should get voted out. But we all know “Survivor” players don’t always play with logic, so I’ll probably regret this placement yet again. 15. Kelley: So…half of her current tribe wants her gone, and at least two-thirds of the other tribe wants her gone. She’s going to need some good luck when she pulls that new buff.
